LOCATION: Gisler Ave between College Ave and Gisler Park
- What: Sewer line rehabilitation work
- When: Ongoing and lasting through October
- Work Hours: 7:30 a.m.- 4 p.m., Monday-Friday (future updates to be provided regarding activities requiring continuous work hours)
- Impacts:
- Noticeable construction activity and construction equipment along Gisler Avenue and within Gisler Park
- The Gisler Park walking trail/bike path along Fairview Road will be closed for approximately three weeks beginning September 16.
- Increased noise due to construction activity
- The contractor is currently preparing the site for rehabilitation of the pipelines. Read more about the rehabilitation work in the Upcoming Work section. More information will be provided as dates are finalized.
Upcoming Work
LOCATION: Gisler Ave between College Ave and Gisler Park
- What: Pipeline rehabilitation by lining the pipe using the cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) method. This work will occur in several segments.
- When: Anticipated to occur starting the week of September 23
- Work Hours: CIPP activities will require 24/7 continuous work
- What to Expect:
- Some odors from the CIPP curing process may be noticeable in the immediate area but are temporary
- Traffic control in work areas
- Increase in activity and noise levels
LOCATION: Susan St and South Coast Dr (IKEA parking lot)
- What: Sewer line rehabilitation work crossing under the 405 freeway
- When: Anticipated to occur in September/October for approximately 2 nights
- Work Hours: 9pm to 6am, night work
- Impacts: This will work will occur in the parking lot area of IKEA during the nighttime hours and is anticipated to have minimal impacts to the public.

Project Description:
This upcoming project will rehabilitate approximately 4 miles of the regional sewer pipeline that runs along the I-405 freeway in the City of Costa Mesa.
Project elements include the rehabilitation of gravity sewer pipelines using the cured-in-place pipe method, manhole structure rehabilitation, and manhole access improvements. The project also includes the rehabilitation of four sewer pipelines that cross the I-405 freeway. (yellow line)

Construction Schedule:
Starting as early as summer 2024 and lasting approximately 1.5 years.
Work will be done in phases (segments) so as not to affect the entire project alignment at once.
